Privacy Policy

• Email updates — if you ask us for product updates or contact us by email, we store your email address (only) on Resend. You can ask us to remove it at any time.
• Account information — your email and a username when you sign up inside the app.
• Your catches — photos, species, weight, length, location, conditions, and any notes you write.
• My documents — photos and details of fishing licences, memberships and permits you choose to add (for example the name, licence number and expiry date). They are kept on your phone and, if you have an account, backed up privately so only you can see them. We use them only to show them to you and remind you before they run out.
• Location data — only when you take a photo of a catch and choose to attach a GPS tag, or tap “Use where I am now” to pick your US state for licence links (used once, not stored). CastLog never tracks your location in the background.
• Diagnostic info — when you submit feedback in-app, we include your app version and device model to help us reproduce issues.

• We don't sell your data. Ever.
• We don't use third-party advertising trackers.
• We don't track your location in the background.
• We don't read your photos beyond the ones you explicitly attach to a catch or add to My documents.

CastLog runs on the following services. We share only the minimum data needed for each:

• Supabase — stores your account, catches, photos, and any licences and permits you back up (private to you). (EU-hosted.)
• Anthropic (Claude) — receives your catch photo when you tap “Identify with AI” so it can name the species. Photos are not stored by Anthropic after the request.
• RevenueCat — handles Pro subscriptions on iOS via Apple in-app purchase.
• Resend — sends transactional emails (e.g. feedback replies). Your email address only.

If you choose to share a catch to the community feed, the photo, species, weight, location name (not exact GPS), and your username become visible to other CastLog users. You can unshare at any time.

You can export your data, correct mistakes, or permanently delete your account from inside the app (Profile → Sign out → Delete account) or via our deletion page. Deletion is permanent and removes your photos, documents and catches from our servers within 30 days.

CastLog is not intended for children under 13.
